Rothstein Kass has announced the promotions of five high-profile team members, including new principals Miri Forster, Sabrina Ho, Peter Kehrli and Jay Shepulski, and senior director Kevin Sasz.
The promotions demonstrate Rothstein Kass’ ongoing commitment to attracting and retaining top talent as the firm continues to expand its expertise and global footprint.

Forster, who leads the firm’s national tax controversy practice and Shepulski, an audit principal, are based in Rothstein Kass’ New Jersey office. Ho, a tax leader in the firm’s family office group, and Kehrli, a leader in the firm’s venture capital practice, are both based out of the San Francisco office. Sasz, a senior director in the firm’s tax practice, is based in New York.
Miri Forster leads the National Tax Controversy practice at Rothstein Kass. With almost 20 years of IRS practice, procedure and controversy experience, Forster regularly represents domestic and multinational corporations, TEFRA partnerships and high-net-worth individuals before the IRS Examination and Appeals Divisions. She successfully obtains penalty abatements, resolves IRS account issues and represents clients with private letter ruling requests.
Forster is a member of the New York, New Jersey and District of Columbia bars and the American Bar Association Section of Taxation. She holds a Master of Laws degree (LL.M.) in taxation from Georgetown University Law Center, a Juris Doctor from New England School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from Brandeis University.
Sabrina Ho, CPA, MST specialises in providing tax compliance and consulting services to high-net-worth individuals and family offices and serves as a tax leader in the firm’s Family Office Group. She has extensive experience advising on complex issues relating to investments in private equity, venture capital and hedge funds, real estate investments, closely-held businesses, multi-state income matters, estate planning and charitable giving. Her clients include fund managers, real estate investors, film/television producers, business owners and executives.
Ho is a certified public accountant in California, a member of the California Society of Certified Public Accountants (CalCPA) and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics and a minor degree in business administration from the University of California, Berkeley and a Master of Science degree in taxation from San Jose State University.
Peter Kehrli, CPA is a leader in the firm’s venture capital practice, specialising in audit and tax services for domestic and offshore alternative investment vehicles, specifically venture capital funds, funds of funds and related investment funds. He assists clients with the implementation and maintenance of proper accounting procedures and internal controls. He also reviews and provides commentary on fund documents. After fund formation, he provides ongoing consultation regarding organisational structure, the audit process and operational and tax matters.
Kehrli is a member of the California Society of CPAs (CalCPA) and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). He is a certified public accountant in California. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara, where he was also active in community outreach programs.
Jay C Shepulski, CPA provides audit, accounting and business advisory services to domestic and international clients in both publicly traded and privately held sectors. Shepulski is heavily involved in Rothstein Kass’ SEC practice, primarily consisting of small and mid-sized registrants. He has in-depth knowledge and experience related to registration and reporting under the Securities Act of 1933 and the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, interpretation and implementation of regulations governing filing requirements, researching and resolving SEC issues through communications with the SEC's Division of Corporation Finance and navigating the evolving issues and requirements of the public reporting landscape.
Shepulski is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants (NJSCPA). He is also an active member of the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG). He is a graduate of the University of Scranton with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting.
Kevin Sasz, CPA oversees tax issues and consults on a variety of trading strategies, including straddles, constructive sales, wash sales, swaps and mark to market. He also assists clients with tax planning strategies, the preparation of technical reports and the tax implications of securities transactions.
Sasz is a certified public accountant in New York and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the New York State Society of CPAs (NYSSCPA). He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the University of Maryland and a Master of Science degree in taxation from Baruch College.
