Mid-market private equity firm Sentinel Capital Partners has promoted Partner Eric Bommer to Managing Partner, effective immediately, positioning him as the eventual successor to the firm’s founder David S Lobel.
Bommer, who joined Sentinel 28 years ago as its first professional hire, has played a key role in the firm’s growth, involved in driving investments, mentoring newer professionals, and supporting the investment strategy. Bommer will continue to focus on investments while gradually taking on additional leadership duties.
Lobel, who founded Sentinel in 1995 with Cofounder and Senior Partner John F. McCormack, commented, “This transition marks a strategic step in Sentinel’s long-term leadership evolution, ensuring continuity and stability while maintaining the firm’s collaborative investment approach.
“One of the things that sets Sentinel apart is the depth of our leadership team. Eric, John, and I – along with tenured partners Owen Basham, Jim Coady, Michael Fabian, Paul Murphy, Scott Perry, Garrett Schires, and John Van Sickle, have worked together for many years. This well-oiled team is the engine that will drive Sentinel forward.”
Both Lobel and McCormack remain actively involved in the firm’s operations and investments, ensuring a seamless transition and sustained support for the future.
