Sentinel Capital Partners acquires Mobile Communications America

Sentinel Capital Partners, a private equity firm that invests in promising companies at the lower end of the mid-market, has acquired Mobile Communications America (MCA), a provider of communications solutions and services in North America and one of Motorola Solutions’ largest channel partners.

Terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.
Founded in 1988 and headquartered in Spartanburg, South Carolina, MCA is a provider of communications and network solutions and services which enhance the safety, security, and operating efficiency of a diverse base of more than 10,000 customers. MCA’s customer base includes public safety institutions and some of the largest, most well-known corporate clients in North America. MCA sells Land Mobile Radios and related network infrastructure products, and offers services across all aspects of the communications solutions lifecycle, including system design, installation, and ongoing maintenance and repair. MCA focuses on the Southeast and enjoys regional density through 41 locations in Alabama, Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia, with the capability of serving national commercial customers across the United States.
“MCA is one of the largest communications solutions providers of its type in North America and is well positioned to deliver highly technical, scalable, and mission critical–grade services,” says Scott Perry, a Sentinel partner. “MCA’s emphasis on service differentiates it from its industry peers, many of whom focus on traditional product distribution. We are excited to work with MCA’s seasoned and highly talented leadership team to continue executing its strategy of acquisitive and organic growth.”
“MCA’s success is built on key relationships fostered by an established culture of service-first, engagement, collaboration, and trust which is written in our DNA,” says Vince Foody, MCA’s CEO. “We look forward to partnering with Sentinel and leveraging its experience to help us grow.”
