EyeSouth is an eye care-focused management services organisation backed by Shore Capital Partners, committed to partnering with leading physicians to build a premier network of eye care services in the South. EyeSouth’s affiliate network consists of 18 practices with approximately 126 doctors providing medical and surgical eye care services at approximately 73 locations including 11 surgery centres throughout Georgia, Texas, Louisiana, North Carolina, Florida, Tennessee, and Alabama.
Retina Associates of Middle Georgia is led by Drs Norman Nelson, Steven Allee and Arpan Bachhawat. RAMG employs approximately 30 support staff across two primary clinical locations in the Middle Georgia area. For nearly 30 years, Retina Associates of Middle Georgia and its board-certified ophthalmologists have offered first-class expertise in the treatment of diseases of the retina, macula, and vitreous to patients throughout Middle Georgia, including a strong commitment to providing care in underserved areas.
“Our primary goal at Retina Associates of Middle Georgia has always been to deliver exceptional medical and surgical retinal care combined with an outstanding patient experience,” says Dr Norman Nelson, who founded RAMG in 1992. “To further build upon this mission in the rapidly changing healthcare environment, we have decided to affiliate with EyeSouth as our partners to help us strengthen and expand our operational and administrative capabilities.”
“Despite the ongoing challenges that our country faces with COVID-19, EyeSouth is committed to affiliating with the highest quality ophthalmology practices. Drs Nelson, Allee and Bachhawat maintain a longstanding reputation for delivering best-in-class patient care throughout Middle Georgia. We are looking forward to taking this partnership to the next level and providing our expertise and best practices to continue Retina Associates of Middle Georgia’s history of practice growth and commitment to serving the local community,” says Eugene Gabianelli, MD, Chief Medical Officer of EyeSouth Partners.
