SolomonEdwards expands advisory team to meet needs of private equity

SolomonEdwards, a national professional services firm, has expanded its capabilities to serve the needs of private equity firms and their portfolio companies.

Private equity continues to play a key role in the nation’s economic recovery. According to Pitchbook, a private equity and venture capital research firm, the fourth quarter of 2012 was the second-best quarter for deal making in the last four years with 564 deals closed and USD126bn invested into target companies in the US.

SolomonEdwards’ Transaction & Regulatory Advisory (TRAS) practice serves the needs of private equity firms and their portfolio companies across the full life cycle of a transaction. Services include pre-deal evaluation, transaction reporting and post deal integration and regulatory compliance.

“Our private equity clients and their portfolio companies demand outstanding expertise embodied in professionals who roll-up their sleeves and provide hand-on support to meet their objectives. We are excited to announce that we have expanded our capabilities to serve these key clients nationwide,” says managing partner Brian Markley. “As each phase of a deal unfolds, we help our clients meet the unique accounting, financial reporting, and performance improvement challenges that emerge along the way.”

Pitchbook reports that nearly two-thirds of deals closed in the first quarter of 2013 occurred in the Mid-Atlantic, Great Lakes, South, and Southeast regions of the US. Each of these regions is served by a local SolomonEdwards practice office.

Markley says: “We have invested in our practice by adding talented people across our entire geographic footprint.”

Private equity fundraising remained consistent in the first quarter of 2013 with a total of USD23bn in capital commitments closed during that period.

“We believe that private equity will continue to be an engine in our economy. We are proud of the track record we have established in meeting the needs of private equity firms and their portfolio companies, and we are now even better positioned to serve our clients as they put funds to work in new investments,” says Markley.

To enhance its advisory team of 24 industry experts nationwide the following team members have either joined the firm in the last 12 months or have been assigned to serve the Transaction & Regulatory Advisory practice:
