The latest Enterprise Software M&A report from Hampleton Partners, an international technology mergers and acquisitions adviser, reveals that the number of deals targeting enterprise software assets has jumped, with 836 deals recorded in the second half of 2020 compared to 641 deals in the first half of the year.
Total transaction value disclosed across all deals in the space was also sky-high, reaching USD112 billion – the highest amount on record.

Innovate Finance, an industry body representing UK FinTech, has released investment figures for the global FinTech sector in 2020 that reinforce the UK’s position as a global and European leader.
The UK FinTech sector has retained its role as the top-ranking investment destination in Europe, with USD4.1 billion venture capital and growth private equity invested across a total of 408 deals. This represents a YoY drop of 9 per cent – an expected shift given the global Covid-19 pandemic and the surrounding economic challenges. Private equity fund administrator Saltgate has appointed Alison French as its first-ever Chief People Officer.
French joined Saltgate last year as a consultant to increase employee engagement, and embed Saltgate’s values. In the newly formed role, she will sit on the Group Strategic Committee to oversee recruitment, diversity, culture and communications. She reports to the group CEO, Simon Riley.
