Dow Jones US Venture Capital Index stood at 1,455.12 as of 30 September, 2010, up 20.4% from June 30, 2010, according to the latest figures released by the company. Over the same time period, the Dow Jones US Total Stock Market Index rose 11%. "Venture index values are usually driven by the value of companies exiting during the quarter," says Susan Woodward (pictured), an economist and the founder of Sand Hill Econometrics. "However, this quarter’s total index value is significantly affected by the Facebook round of funding in December 2010. Thus, despite being a fourth-quarter event, Facebook influenced third-quarter values. AIM-quoted Creat Resources Holdings Limited (CRHL) has welcomed the completion of pre-IPO fundraising by ASX-listed Galaxy Resources, in which it is a major shareholder. Although Galaxy is already listed in Sydney, Australia, it has announced an impending dual listing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. The new share placing raised AUD91.5 million (approx GBP57 million) from a single new shareholder – Fengli Group (Hong Kong) Ltd, at AUD1.39 per share. CRHL last year completed the acquisition of a 19.9% shareholding in Galaxy at an agreed price of AUD0.88 per Galaxy share. That shareholding has now been diluted to 17.78%. The
The London Stock Exchange Group (LSE) and the Mongolian State Property Committee (SPC) have signed an exclusive Strategic Partnership Agreement to restructure and develop the Mongolian Stock Exchange (MSE). According to pan-regional investment bank Eurasia Capital, this is an important milestone in the development of the Mongolian securities market with long term positive impact. According to the agreement, LSE will appoint a management team to oversee MSE development and privatisation, and will provide trading and surveillance infrastructure. The Luxembourg Stock Exchange listed a total of 1,220 new investment funds during 2010. The exchange improved its position overall in the listing of international securities during the year, admitting 9,350 new securities in all, a 20.85% increase compared with 7,737 in 2009. For its two markets, the breakdown was as follows: 8,210 securities on the “Bourse de Luxembourg” regulated market, and 1,140 on the Euro MTF market. As well as the 1,220 investment funds, the exchange listed 5,608 bonds, 53 shares and depositary receipts, and 2,469 warrants. Navatar Private Equity runs in salesforce.com’s cloud. Its flexible reporting engine can be used by non-technical staff to generate reports. Navatar Group provides all implementation services, accounts/contacts migration, training, maintenance and support free of charge. Coller Capital, an investor in private equity secondaries, has launched an iPhone App allowing investors to make instant comparisons of the rate of return offered by different investment opportunities. The Coller IRR App is available for download free from the Apple App Store or iPhone. The App, a new incarnation of Coller Capital’s IRR Card, performs IRR and compound interest calculations at the spin of a dial. Riverside Partners, a Boston-based private equity firm, has invested USD34m into Welocalize, which specialises in content translation, localisation and internationalisation of web based content. Welocalize was founded in 1997 and is based in Frederick, Maryland.  With over 400 employees in nine offices located in the US, Ireland, Germany, China and Japan, Welocalize provides translation supply chain management that delivers market-ready, translated content.  Welocalize’s translation supply chain management solutions are driven by GlobalSight, a collaborative, open-source translation management system.  Riverside Partners’ investment will be used to support the company’s growth initiatives including investment in the company’s technology systems and potential add-on
Buddy Media, a Facebook management system for advertisers, has raised USD23m in series C funding to fuel its growth. Institutional Venture Partners led the new round and was joined by existing Buddy Media investors including Softbank Capital, Greycroft Partners and Bay Partners.   The Buddy Media investment is the first by IVP in its latest fund, a USD750m later-stage venture capital and growth equity fund announced in August 2010. The expansion capital will be used to triple Buddy Media’s employee headcount to 300 in the next 18 months, as well as fund other marketing and growth initiatives.   Buddy Media’s

SBI Ven Capital, a Singapore subsidiary of Japan-based SBI Holdings, is a private equity firm providing growth capital to companies in the mid-market sector in the Asia Pacific region.
