Melbourne-based Starfish Ventures has announced the closing of its Starfish Technology Fund II at AUD185m, which it says represents the largest venture capital fundraising in Australia.
Melbourne-based Starfish Ventures has announced the closing of its Starfish Technology Fund II at AUD185m, which it says represents the largest venture capital fundraising in Australia.
The fund will invest in information and communication technology, life sciences and cleantech companies. The closing of its Starfish Technology Fund II brings Starfish’s assets under management to more than AUD385m.
Starfish Ventures investment principal Michael Panaccio (photo) says: ‘Starfish is pleased to raise AUD185m for Starfish Technology Fund II in what has turned out to be a difficult fundraising environment. We’re delighted that the Starfish Technology Fund II investors were also investors in our previous fund.’
Established in 2001, Starfish Ventures has made investments in more than 35 companies to date.
