Saudi Venture Capital (SVC) has invested $15m in Vision Ventures’ Saqr Fund II venture capital fund, which has a $90m target, and will invest in Saudi Arabia and the MENA region’s early-stage firms from pre-Seed to pre-Series B.
Vision Ventures, founded in 2016 by Haitham BuAisha and Kais Al-Essa, is a sector-agnostic VC firm that invests in early-stage tech startups in Saudi Arabia and MENA.
Dr. Nabeel Koshak, CEO and Board Member at SVC, said: “Our investment in the venture capital fund by Vision Ventures is part of SVC’s Investment in Funds Program, in alignment with our strategy to catalyse venture investments and minimise fund-raising entry barriers for fund managers who are looking to invest in Saudi-based high-growth startups during their different growth stages.”
