The Illinois Police Officers’ Pension Investment Fund names deputy CIO

The Illinois Police Officers’ Pension Investment Fund has appointed Greg Turk as deputy chief investment officer, reporting to CIO Kent Custer. His initial focus at IPOPIF will be to oversee the planning and implementation of private market investments. 

Turk joined IPOPIF from family office NG4 Capital, where he was chief investment officer and advised on the firm’s private capital investments. 

He previously served as director of investments for the Teachers’ Retirement System for the State of Illinois, where he was responsible for both public and private investment activity. According to a statement, he contributed to the fund’s strategy and implementation across private equity, private credit, real assets and diversifying strategies, with ILTRS growing to approximately $65bn in AUM during his tenure. 

Turk has also worked at the CFA Institute, Thomson Financial, Bear Stearns and Investors Management Group.
