Thoma Bravo to acquire digital investigation software specialist

The report cites a statement made by Thoma Bravo as confirming that on completion of the deal, Magnet Forensics will be merged with existing portfolio company Grayshift, which Thoma Bravo acquired last year. 

Shares in Magnet Forensics rose 14% to CAD43.65 in Toronto on Friday, giving the company a market value of about CAD1.8 billion. 

Under the terms of the deal, most investors will receive CAD44.25 for their shares, with rolling shareholders, including some members of the board, getting CAD39.00 for each subordinate and multiple voting share they hold.
