Validus Risk Management (Validus), a software and tech-enabled services platform for financial risk management, has boosted its Fund Finance Advisory team in London with the appointment of Jonathan Watson from RBS International.
Reporting to Head of Fund Finance Advisory, Gianluca Lorenzon, Watson will advise clients on structuring and arranging fund finance solutions, as well as contribute to the development of new products.
Watson brings deep sector knowledge and extensive experience in structuring and execution at RBS International, as an Associate Director, in the Guernsey Fund Finance team, he executed more than 30 transactions over the past two years, spanning capital call facilities and NAV/portfolio financings.
Validus’ Fund Finance Advisory team advises on and arranges facilities for private markets managers globally. Its offering includes subscription, hybrid and NAV facilities, GP financing as well as very bespoke asset and fund level structured finance solutions.
Watson’s appointment follows a series of global hires after Validus secured a $45m growth equity investment from FTV Capital. The funding will support the firm’s expansion across Europe, North America and APAC, while accelerating go-to-market efforts and investment in technology and product innovation.
