Walden International makes first investment from Singapore seed fund

International venture capital firm Walden International has announced its first investment using Seed Ventures IV, a SGD20m (approximately USD13.3m) venture fund, as the vehicle.

International venture capital firm Walden International has announced its first investment using Seed Ventures IV, a SGD20m (approximately USD13.3m) venture fund, as the vehicle.

This was set up under the Singapore National Research Foundation’s Early Stage Venture Funding Scheme. The investment in Brandtology is Walden’s first under this new fund.

Brandtology provides business and brand online intelligence services round the clock from its 24/7 command centres. Manned by trained specialists, Brandtology enables organisations around the globe to make timely and informed strategic decisions. Brandtology’s Digital Conversation Management System is powered by an intelligent opinion mining and ticket-processing system which aids organisations in listening to online digital conversations generated from blogs, forums, micro-blogs, news sites and other social medium.

Walden International is an international venture capital firm that provides investors access to cross-border, IT opportunities with the advantage of a pan-Asia network since 1987. The firm’s funds total over USD1.9bn in committed capital.

Walden International’s investments include Creative Technology, Mindtree Consulting, Sina, Semiconductor Manufacturing International, and WebEx (acquired by Cisco). Over the past 20 years, Walden International has been an active player in the Singapore venture capital scene and has invested in approximately 60 Singapore companies.
