Waller Capital Partners has opened an office in San Francisco in support of the firm’s continued growth in the technology industry.
As part of this expansion, Waller Capital has also appointed Richard Juarez as a managing director to lead coverage in the cloud services and SaaS sectors.
Juarez has more than 16 years of investment banking experience, including a long career at Robertson Stephens & Co, and most recently as co-head of technology at Morgan Joseph TriArtisan. Throughout his career, Juarez has assisted technology clients on more than 50 transactions, including GlobalScape’s acquisition of TappIn, a raise of equity and debt expansion capital for Media Temple provided by Triangle Capital and GMB Mezzanine Capital, Local.com’s acquisition of debt capital from Silicon Valley Bank, an equity investment in Advanced Data Centers, and the sale of Digsby to Tagged.
“Rick is a brilliant technologist, as well as an experienced and respected investment banker,” says Garrett Baker (pictured), president of Waller Capital. “We expect Rick’s experience with cloud and software companies to play a big role in our growth as Waller Capital continues to expand its technology efforts and build out its West Coast presence.”
“Over the past 30 years, Waller Capital has built an industry-leading advisory practice across telecom, media and information businesses,” says Juarez. “The firm’s aggressive expansion into technology is well timed as the industry is experiencing explosive growth in cloud and related technologies. Convergence among and between telecom, software, and services companies is accelerating the pace of innovation and the creation of new cloud and technology enabled businesses.”
