Goldman Sachs Group veteran Lee Becker has left the bank after 17 years to join Warburg Pincus as a Managing Director in the $82bn global private equity firm’s capital solutions group, according to a report by Bloomberg.
The report cites an unnamed source with knowledge of the matter as confirming that Becker will take up his new role following a period of gardening leave.
Warburg Pincus has raised more than $2.5bn for the Warburg Pincus Capital Solutions Founders Fund, the firm’s first investment vehicle dedicated to structured equity and debt investments, surpassing the its initial target of $1.5bn.
At Goldman, Becker, was most recently co-head of Hybrid Capital Americas within the bank’s asset- and wealth-management arm.
