Warburg Pincus-backed eSentire makes leadership appointments

Cybersecurity specialist company eSentire, which is backed by private equity firm Warburg Pincus, has appointed Chris Gesell as chief strategy and marketing officer, and Brett Davis as executive vice president, global sales, effective immediately.

Gesell will be responsible for driving eSentire’s business and brand strategies, while Davis will lead the company’s global sales strategy, execution, and growth.

With a proven track record of creating winning business and brand strategies, Gesell brings to eSentire over 20 years of global leadership experience in IT services, including consulting, cloud, security, data center, and managed services. Gesell’s experience in corporate strategy, mergers and acquisitions, along with setting a company’s direction will be critical in taking eSentire into its next growth phase. Most recently, Gesell served as VP of Worldwide Partner Strategy at Hewlett Packard Enterprise and CMO at Terremark, a Verizon company.
 
With over 25 years’ experience in sales leadership and customer facing roles, Davis has a successful record leading high performing global sales organizations, building trusted client relationships, and delivering consistent growth. An accomplished sales leader, Davis delivers a sales process that provides clients with the information and support they need to make the right decisions for their organizations and its constituents. Davis has served in executive level roles at Cybertrust, Verizon Enterprise Services, Focal Point Data Risk, and Digex.
