York Capital adds to private equity team and announces promotions

York Capital Management (York), a global private investment firm, has appointed seasoned private equity investor Seth Pearson as a Managing Director in the firm’s private equity group.  

Pearson will be responsible for deal sourcing, transaction execution, and portfolio company oversight and will be joining the investment committee of the York Special Opportunities Fund III (YSOF III), York private equity’s most recent investment fund, with approximately USD800 million in committed capital.
 
Prior to joining York, Pearson spent over 13 years at Wellspring Capital Management LLC, most recently as a Partner. At Wellspring, he helped found and lead the firm’s healthcare investment efforts and also led investments in the niche manufacturing and specialty distribution sectors. Mr. Pearson began his career at Wachovia Securities, in the Leveraged Finance Origination & Execution group. He graduated cum laude from Harvard University with a Bachelor of Arts in Social Studies.

York private equity also announced the promotions of Rodman Ngo and Max Slivka to Principal, and Lyle Berstein and Jeff Nutkis to Vice President and recently added Jack Plattus as an Associate.
 
Ngo and Slivka joined York in 2018 and 2017, respectively. Prior to joining York, Ngo was at Platinum Private Equity, and before that was a Consumer and Retail investment banker at JPMorgan Chase & Co. Slivka joined York from Pegasus Capital Advisors, and before that was an Industrials investment banker at Citigroup. Berstein and Nutkis joined York in 2019 from Lindsay Goldberg and Lone Star Funds, respectively. Plattus joined York in late 2020 from The TCW Group.
