Abu Dhabi-based digital infrastructure investor Zero Two has entered into a co-ownership agreement with Warburg Pincus in Evolution Data Centres, the rapidly expanding Southeast Asia-focused data centre platform, the parties announced Tuesday, according to a report by Reuters.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Zero Two operates under the umbrella of Abu Dhabi sovereign wealth fund ADQ (Abu Dhabi Developmental Holding Company PJSC).
This marks Zero Two’s inaugural investment in Southeast Asia since its establishment in 2022, with plans to provide long-term growth capital to support Evolution’s expansion of hyperscale-ready, renewable-powered data centre assets across the region.
Warburg Pincus initially invested in Evolution through a joint venture in 2022. Since then, Evolution has broadened its footprint to include Thailand, the Philippines, and Vietnam.
Darren Webb, CEO and Co-Founder of Evolution, commented that Zero Two’s strategic participation would accelerate the company’s mission to deliver sustainable, high-performance digital infrastructure throughout Southeast Asia.
Ahmed Al Hameli, CEO of Zero Two, stated the partnership aligns with the firm’s focus on deploying patient capital to high-growth infrastructure platforms.
