Alpina Partners acquires CrossLink

CF Holding (CFH), a portfolio company of Alpina Partners, has acquired the operations of CrossLink Faserverbundtechnik as part of an asset deal.

CrossLink is an engineering and manufacturing business based in Cadolzburg near Nuremberg, Germany.

The company engages in the design, development and production of lightweight composite components.

Its customer base covers various industries, including medical technology, mechanical engineering, automotive as well as security and safety.

CFH is an industrial holding company focusing on the acquisition and development of medium-sized technology companies. In addition to CrossLink, CFH holds a majority stake in UBC, a company in the carbon fibre composites space based in Murr, Germany.

Frank Wittchen, CEO of CFH, says: “With the acquisition of CrossLink, we consequently follow the strategy we defined when acquiring UBC. CrossLink is a highly innovative company substantially enhancing and complementing the technology expertise and customer base of the group. In the future, UBC and CrossLink will work closely together in order to support its customers with innovative solutions.”

CFH is a portfolio company of Alpina Partners, a technology investment firm targeting European SMEs. It is focusing on sectors with underlying market growth and consolidation potential.

“Since acquiring UBC in 2014, we have been building a technology group in the composite space. The acquisition of CrossLink was the next logical step. Going forward, CFH shall grow organically as well as through acquisitions and thus further strengthen its market position,” says Florian Strehle, partner at Alpina.
