Mérieux Equity Partners has promoted Jean-François Billet to the newly created role of Managing Partner and Head of Buyout, and Theodor Wuppermann to Partner, both within its buyout team.
Billet, previously Managing Partner, will be responsible for structuring the development of the activity as well as leading the team. He joined Mérieux Equity Partners in 2016.
Wuppermann, previously Managing Director, joined Mérieux Equity Partners last May and has contributed to the recent investments of Mérieux Participations 4 in LabQuality and InnoSyn.
MxEP has raised two funds within its buyout activity: Mérieux Participations 3 (MP3, 2018, €377m) and Mérieux Participations 4 (MP4, 2021, €568m), alongside other co-investment vehicles representing over €200m. MP3 and MP4 have cumulatively made 21 investments and four exits.
The firm’s strategy is to make investments ranging from €20m to €80m in companies with organic growth as well as buy-and-build platforms. Its recent majority investments include Innosyn, Labquality and Piercan.
