OEP’s Computer Design & Integration acquires High Availability

IT solutions provider Computer Design & Integration (CDI), a portfolio company of middle market private equity firm One Equity Partners (OEP), has completed the acquisition of High Availability (HA), a solution provider and integrator of data centre, networking, security, mobility, collaboration and cloud strategy products and services. Financial terms of the private transaction have not been disclosed.

Headquartered in the Philadelphia-metro area, HA solves complex and unique business challenges by architecting and implementing customised, forward-thinking technical solutions for its customers. Founded in 2000, the company’s experienced team of approximately 100 employees provides digital infrastructure, cloud, cybersecurity, unified communications and seamless workplace applications that streamline fundamental business tasks.

“We believe High Availability will accelerate CDI’s growth through the addition of complementary services, add a deep bench of talented engineers and strengthen its white glove managed services offering,” says Chip Schorr, Senior Managing Director at One Equity Partners. “This transaction reflects OEP’s strategy of accelerating growth in our technology portfolio companies through transformative acquisitions that build scale and drive innovation.”

The acquisition will combine two comprehensive suites of services, including hybrid cloud infrastructure, DevOps, intelligent operations, digital workflow, digital workspace, security technologies, managed and professional services. HA also meaningfully increases the size of CDI’s managed services segment.

“OEP partnered with CDI to expand into new markets and strengthen its market-leading multi-cloud offerings through acquisition,” adds Charlie Cole, Vice President at One Equity Partners. “We are excited to continue to execute on that strategy by bringing together two like-minded organisations with similar cultures and talented leadership teams to expand the companies’ geographic reach and service offerings.”

“Our partnership with OEP has enabled CDI to continue to identify strategic acquisitions that have built scale and positively impacted the growth trajectory of our business,” says Rich Falcone, President of CDI. “CDI and HA couple technical depth with the flexibility to change with the pace of digital transformation. Our companies share a common mission to deliver the highest quality of services, while also maintaining agility. We are stronger together and look forward to combining our industry expertise to position our clients for long-term success.”

“Our companies share a client-driven mentality, making this a desirable partnership for both organisations,” says Steve Eisenhart, CEO of High Availability. “Together, we’re aligned to bring additive capabilities and scale to our clients while providing enhanced services and an expanded footprint. We’re excited for this next phase and know that CDI was the clear choice to help us continue the HA journey, while respecting the culture and legacy of our business.”

HA is CDI’s third acquisition over the last 12 months, following OEP’s acquisition of CDI in January 2020. In September 2020, CDI acquired P5 Solutions Inc., a transformative consulting company known for helping customers establish better enterprise-wide processes through digital modernisation and optimisation. In July, it acquired Plan B Technologies, Inc (PBT), an IT solutions and professional services provider specialising in remote access and virtual desktop infrastructure solutions.
