Millar Cameron strengthens Africa markets capability with new power & infrastructure team

Millar Cameron, the executive & professional search consultancy, has recruited a highly experienced team of head-hunters to service the power and infrastructure sectors in Africa.

The business, which has been identifying and developing senior leaders for clients in emerging markets since 2007, is well-known for its executive search work in the food, agriculture, international development, real estate, technology and telecoms sectors. With access to reliable energy critical for sustainable economic growth across Africa, the power sector is a natural addition to Millar Cameron’s areas of expertise.

Joining the company are Jayne Maxwell, Tim Beckh and Justin Wharton, who collectively bring 50+ years’ experience in executive search, a substantial proportion of which has been gained recruiting senior executives for the power & infrastructure sectors in emerging markets. They bring experience of operating at board and executive level across the energy and infrastructure value chain for investors, developers, operators, EPC and O&M service providers in both traditional and renewable energies.

“600 million people in Africa are without access to reliable and affordable power and it is vital for the growth of the markets we already service.” says Conor O’Callaghan, Millar Cameron’s Managing Partner. “To add experienced partners in Jayne, Justin and Tim to the team is a huge boost to our capabilities and further reinforces our commitment to Africa’s development.”
Commenting on the team’s move, Tim Beckh added, “Millar Cameron’s focus on the economic prosperity of Africa through its people and the businesses they partner with was a big draw for us, as is its physical presence in Africa and ambitions for growth. We share the firm’s values and commitment to the continent and look forward to further supporting the development of the vitally important energy & infrastructure sectors across the region.”
