Waterland-backed imc group acquires Indigo Medical

Indigo Medical, a provider of material review, medical signatory approval services and medical communication for global pharmaceutical and biopharma companies, is joining imc group with the backing of pan-European investor Waterland Private Equity.

The new partnership enhances imc group’s increasing geographic footprint and capabilities, as well as disrupts the global healthcare communications industry with a one-stop service for clients across seven core divisions: Medical & Scientific Content, Publications, Digital & Creative, Insights & Consulting, Patient Engagement, Meetings & Events, and Medical Compliance & Material Review.

Established by pharmaceutical industry veterans, Tina and Rak Patel, Indigo Medical’s highly specialist knowledge in the areas of pharmaceutical material and marketing review, approval process management, and commercial compliance remains crucial to safely developing and bringing to market the latest treatments and therapies. Ensuring the highest standards of business conduct and integrity, the compliance function will be established as a separate entity – Indigo Medical Compliance – to impartially serve the needs of clients.

The financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.

Co-founder and Director of Indigo Medical’s compliance and approval services Rak Patel, says: “Our partnership will ensure that more clients can benefit from our many years of experience in providing sector-leading compliance services, simplifying the burden of copy review and approval, and enabling the faster deployment of healthcare solutions.”

Co-founder and Director of Indigo’s medical communication services Tina Patel stated “Our vision has always been to differentiate our services through world-class scientific know-how and client service. We are delighted to have found, in imc group, an organisation that not only shares this philosophy but enables us to expand our geographic footprint, providing a best-in-class service to our clients.”

President and CEO of imc group, Shairose Ebrahim, says: “I am thrilled to welcome Rak, Tina and their team to imc group. This collaboration means that not only can we provide cutting-edge, end-to-end omnichannel and insights-led solutions to clients aimed at improving patient outcomes, but we can now also provide industry leading compliance and medical expertise which is ultimately about patient safety. I look forward to supporting Indigo Medical in the expansion of its capabilities globally.”

Waterland Private Equity Investment Director, Dominic Graham adds: “We are pleased to support Shairose and imc group as they continue their expansion through organic growth and acquisitions. The addition of the team at Indigo Medical not only adds valuable expertise and in-demand complementary services to imc group, but they also share the same ambition to shape the future of global healthcare communications.”
