Fortress expands private wealth team with Europe and Japan hires

Fortress Investment Group is strengthening its private wealth operation outside the US with the appointment of regional heads for Europe and Japan, as the alternative investment manager steps up efforts to attract wealthy investors in international markets, according to a report by Bloomberg.

Harry Bush has been appointed to lead Fortress’ EMEA private wealth business from London, while Yuko Umino will head its Japanese operation from Tokyo. Both executives will report to global co-heads of private wealth solutions Adam Bobker and Nils Wilson.

The appointments mark Fortress’ first push to build dedicated private wealth coverage outside the US, with the firm seeking to meet growing demand for access to private markets among high-net-worth investors and the financial institutions that serve them.

Umino joins after two decades at Pacific Investment Management Co, where she held roles focused on wealth management. Bush previously worked at Nuveen, where he helped develop its UK wealth business focused on private markets.
