Joint Administrators, John Whitfield and Matt Ingram, both of financial advisory and investment banking firm Duff & Phelps, have confirmed that they have successfully sold the business and assets of AMI Blaymires Limited.
The sale, which concluded on 30 March 2012, is to Unitech Blaymires Limited, part of Unitech Industries. Unitech Industries is a leading supplier of high quality stainless steel and aluminium equipment to the food, beverage, pharmaceutical and other hygiene conscious industries.
Whitfield and Ingram were appointed as Joint Administrators (“the Administrators’) to the Company on 9 March 2012 and continued to trade the business after their appointment whilst a buyer was sought.
The Company, based in Lye in Stourbridge, West Midlands manufactures metal parts and components for a variety of industries and lists companies such as JCB and Thyssen Krupp amongst its blue chip customer base. Under the sale agreement, all 44 employees have transferred to the new business.

Whitfield says: “We are delighted to have achieved a sale of the business as a going concern which has secured the jobs of the employees. The Company has a history of strong relationships with its customers which has assisted us to continue to trade and was of significant interest to all interested parties. We wish the new owners and the employees every success in the future.”
Shoosmiths insolvency associate Aaron Harlow acted on behalf of Unitech Blaymires Limited. This is the fifth consecutive deal Shoosmiths has advised on for Unitech Industries, having also advised on the acquisitions of Welequip, Stellex and Scomac.
The Joint Administrators legal advisors in the administration and sale of business were Harrison Clark LLP.
