Princeton Equity Group, a US private equity firm specialising in franchisor and multi-location businesses, has promoted Jack Nagle and Joseph Trahan from principal to partner, according to a company announcement.
Both executives joined the firm in 2021 as vice presidents and have since been involved in investment sourcing, transaction execution and portfolio company development.
Nagle was promoted to principal in 2024 and has worked on investments including Amped Fitness, Barry’s, Stretch Zone and D1 Training. He was also involved in International Franchise Professionals Group before its sale.
Before joining Princeton, Nagle held investment positions at Kayne Anderson Capital Advisors and JF Lehman & Company, having started his career at Morgan Stanley.
Trahan was promoted to principal in 2023 and has worked with portfolio companies including Pirtek, KidStrong, Five Star Franchising and Ellie Mental Health.
He previously held investment roles at Trive Capital and Elm Park Capital Management, following an earlier position at JPMorgan Chase.
Princeton Co-Founders and Managing Partners Jim Waskovich and Doug Kennealey said the promotions reflected the executives’ contributions to investment execution, portfolio development and the firm’s broader growth strategy.
Princeton manages approximately $3bn in assets and focuses on investments in franchisor and multi-location businesses across the US.
The promotions follow the firm’s $1.3bn final close of Princeton Equity Partners III, which reached its hard cap after a two-month fundraising period.
