Law firm Sidley Austin is adding Alex Lloyd to its Hong Kong office as a partner in the US corporate finance practice, effective 1 May 2010.
Lloyd’s practice focuses on debt and equity capital markets, including high yield debt offerings and IPOs.
He has represented issuers and underwriters in a number of high yield offerings in Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Korea and China.
On the equity side, he has primarily focused on Hong Kong IPOs with a Rule 144A tranche, as well as other global equity issues listed in Singapore.
Lloyd’s practice covers a wide area of other capital markets activities including investment grade debt offerings, restructurings, SEC regulatory compliance and liability management transactions.
“Alex is an experienced capital markets lawyer who brings a wealth of experience in the high yield and capital markets arenas,” says William O. Fifield, Sidley’s managing partner in the Greater China region. “He will be a key player in our already deep bench of over 50 corporate lawyers in Asia/Pacific.”
“I know the strength of Sidley’s corporate finance practice, having worked alongside the firm’s lawyers on several transactions. I am impressed with Sidley’s commitment to the region and found the opportunity to join the team compelling,” says Lloyd.
