Lloyds Bank Corporate Markets boosts North West Acquisition Finance team

Lloyds Bank Corporate Markets has strengthened its Acquisition Finance team in the North West with the appointment of director, Matt Widdall.

Widdall joins the bank from Deloitte’s corporate finance advisory practice in Manchester where he gained 12 years experience advising on company acquisitions, disposals, joint ventures, restructurings, and debt and equity finance raising transactions.

During this time, Widdall advised on a number of high profile private equity-backed deals, including Endless LLP’s investment in Darwen manufacturer, Crown Paints.
He will join Neil Price and Kerry Morley at the firm’s Manchester office, where he will work closely with sponsors and management teams to provide well structured debt facilities to support the growth ambitions of key regional businesses.

Widdal says: “Lloyds Bank Corporate Markets has been amongst the most active leveraged debt providers in the UK in recent years, developing a strong reputation for delivering innovative, competitively-priced credit packages to support complex transactions.

“I look forward to working with the team to originate and execute deals in the North West, which remains a key region for mid-market private equity investors.”

Neil Price, head of Lloyds Bank Corporate Markets Acquisition Finance in the North West, says: “Matt is a highly skilled and experienced dealmaker who is well regarded in the regional corporate finance community. His market knowledge will prove invaluable as we continue to work closely with sponsors, advisers and businesses to drive deal flow in the North West.”

During 2010, Lloyds Bank Corporate Markets’ Acquisition Finance team provided over GBP1.9 billion of debt, funding 52 deals with a combined enterprise value of over GBP6 billion.
