Private equity firm HIG Capital has appointed Carl Harring as a Managing Director in its London office.
Harring joins HIG from HgCapital, where he led a number of small and medium-sized European LBOs. Before that, he spent nine years at Apax Partners in London, where he invested in a number of highly successful transactions across Europe.
Harring says: “I am very excited to join HIG The firm is a leader in its field and has a unique business model focused on providing deep operational and strategic resources, and a very flexible capital base which enables it to invest both in debt and equity. Considering the volatile current economic outlook, I believe HIG is very well placed to leverage its strong platform in Europe and its almost 20 year long experience of active investing into both LBOs as well as special situations.”
Sami Mnaymneh, co-Founder and Managing Partner of HIG, says: “We are delighted to have Carl join our team and help us further build our European capabilities. He brings additional UK deal experience to our team and also a very strong network and track record in the Nordic region, which we see as an attractive area for HIG to target. With more than 45 investment professionals based in the UK, Germany, France and Spain, we already have the largest private equity team focused on small and lower mid-market transactions across Europe.”
