Alfa eCare enters Finnish daycare software market with Daisy acquisition

Healthcare software provider Alfa eCare, backed by Main Capital Partners, has entered the Finnish market for childcare software with the acquisition of Daisy.

Daisy, flagship label of software company WhileOnTheMove, is active in the Finnish municipality ecosystem providing software solutions for early childhood education and daycare.

Daisy is the third acquisition of Alfa eCare following the investment of Main Capital Partners in 2020. The combined group will create a leading Nordic eCare group with strong presence in the municipal care segment, servicing more than 200 municipalities and regions in the Swedish and Finnish market. The combination of Alfa eCare and Daisy creates a strong offering of welfare solutions ranging from early childhood to elderly care.

Albert Winter, Managing Director of Alfa Group, says: ‘Long-term trends show us that there is a large need in the Nordics welfare system to reduce costs while simultaneously scaling-up (health)care provision increasing effectiveness and quality. Alfa eCare has a mission to provide all stakeholders, active in the welfare ecosystem, with innovative and intuitive solutions to support this development. The acquisition of Daisy is a strong next-step for Alfa eCare to support its customers in improving the quality of care.’

Daisy offers solutions for early childhood education and daycare providers that streamline their processes with an innovative and intuitive suite. The company recently won a large contract with Finnish in-house procurement organization Tiera allowing the company to further build out its position across the Finnish public sector.

By joining forces both companies will improve its capabilities to support clients in their journey towards a more digitised and cost-efficient society. The group services clients such as Humana, Previa, Joensuu, Hämeenlinna, Nacka, Tyresö, Mikkeli and Sollentuna municipalities, Pilke, St Lukas and Ambea.

Kari Kivistö, Founder and CEO of Daisy, says: ‘We are happy to announce this partnership, which marks an important step in our ambition to become a leading player in the Nordics childcare market. Our customers will benefit from this co-operation: Daisy will get bigger, the organization will professionalize further and become even more experienced supporting public and private sector customers.’

Wessel Ploegmakers, Partner and co-Head of the Nordics office at Main, says: ‘The acquisition of Daisy enables Alfa eCare to enter the key strategic growth market Finland, improving the international prospect of the group. Our aim is to make Alfa eCare a leading software group in the Nordics welfare market. We have built extensive knowledge of the healthcare software sector through our platforms SDB Group and Enovation in the Netherlands. We will channel this experience towards our Alfa eCare buy-and-build strategy.’
