Atwater Capital appoints ex-CAA executive as Principal

Atwater Capital (Atwater), a private equity firm that focuses exclusively on the media and entertainment sectors, has appointed Meri Khananashvili, formerly an executive at Creative Artists Agency (CAA), the entertainment agency giant, as Principal. Khananashvili, who brings deep industry expertise and an extensive network to the firm’s leadership, will play a key role in the execution of Atwater’s investment strategy. She will be based at the firm’s Los Angeles headquarters.

Prior to joining, Khananashvili was a Business Affairs Executive in the Media Finance Group at CAA, one of Atwater’s key industry partners. Khananashvili’s experience includes consulting on deal structuring, film financing and distribution. She holds a JD from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles.
Vania Schlogel, Managing Partner & Founder of Atwater Capital, says: “We are thrilled to welcome Meri to Atwater. Meri has spent a number of years working at one of our key partners in the industry, CAA, where she fostered an impressive network of contacts as well as a track record of executing  top tier deals in the media and entertainment sector. Meri brings to the Atwater team deep operational and content sector expertise.”
Khananashvili adds: “This is an enormously exciting time to be joining Atwater, and I am thrilled to be given this opportunity. After my time with CAA, building relationships across the sector, this is a natural progression, and I look forward to helping Atwater to originate and execute investments in the media and entertainment sectors in the US and internationally.”
