Brookfield’s global head of private equity, Anuj Ranjan, believes that rising private credit activity is complementing — not displacing — traditional private equity buy-outs, according to a report by Bloomberg.
Speaking in Riyadh at Saudi Arabia’s Future Investment Initiative, Ranjan said that investor interest in private equity continues to be strong, and that he expects to see its expansion continue.
His comments come amid scrutiny of the rapid expansion of private credit and concern that it may be absorbing deal flow that historically would have gone to buy-out sponsors.
