Brown Foods, an alternative milk creator and Y Combinator startup accelerator graduate, has raised $2.36 million in a seed funding round backed by AgFunder, SRI Capital, Amino Capital, Collaborative Fund, a group of individual angel investors, and Y Combinator, according to a report by AgFunderNews.
Brown Foods’ UnReal Milk product is made using mammalian cell culture technology and is friendly to both animals and the climate, vegetarian, and as nutritious as traditional dairy milk.
The funds from the seed round will be used to further develop the product and to scale up its cell-cultivation process.
