Cadwalader recruits Greg Patti to broaden private equity health care and telecoms expertise

International law firm Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft has announced that Gregory P. Patti will join the firm as a partner in the corporate department of its New York office.

‘Private equity and hedge funds are playing an increasingly important role in the global economy and Cadwalader is committed to providing them with the same skill and acumen that we have long brought to our other financial services clients,’ says Christopher White, chairman of Cadwalader and co-chairman of the firm’s corporate department. ‘Greg will deepen and broaden the expertise we bring to clients in this arena.

Ron Hopkinson, head of Cadwalader’s private equity group, adds: ‘Not only is Greg a well-respected and accomplished corporate transactional lawyer, he adds in-depth expertise in the health care and telecoms sectors, two key areas for our private equity clients.’

Patti has substantial experience in corporate and securities law, including strategic acquisitions and divestitures, private equity, representation of portfolio companies, general corporate counselling and initial public offerings and other securities issuances.

Patti, who joined O’Melveny & Myers in 1992 and was elected a partner in the firm in 2001, has significant experience in auctions of large subsidiaries and divisions of public companies, and has represented clients including Sun Healthcare Group, Verizon Communications, TCW Capital, CCMP Capital and American Capital Strategies.
