CVC and Cinven among bidders for Advent-backed Parfums de Marly

Private equity firms CVC Capital Partners and Cinven are among the potential bidders for luxury fragrance brand Parfums de Marly, as current owner Advent International explores a sale that could value the business at just under €2bn, according to a report by Reuters.

Spanish beauty group Puig is also understood to be involved in the process, although it is reportedly less active than some competing bidders. Discussions remain ongoing, with no certainty that a transaction will be agreed.

Advent acquired Parfums de Marly in 2023. Founded in 2009, the French-inspired fragrance business sells premium perfumes including Layton, Delina and Valaya, with bottles generally priced at €250 or more.

The potential transaction reflects continued private equity interest in premium fragrance brands, which have emerged as an attractive segment of the beauty market. Representatives for CVC, Cinven, Puig and Advent declined to comment on the reported sale process.
