Carlyle Group CEO flags credit market risk

Carlyle Group CEO Harvey Schwartz has said that while recent volatility in credit markets is a concern, he remains encouraged by signs of economic resilience, according to a report by Bloomberg.

Speaking at the Formula 1 US Grand Prix in Austin, Schwartz told Bloomberg that late in the investment cycle, credit markets should be on a “worry list”. But he also said that in relation to Carlyle’s portfolio companies, “there’s nothing in the immediate horizon that suggests that things are crumbling”.

Credit markets have faced uncertainty since the collapse of car industry firms First Brands and Tricolor.
