CDC Group, the UK government-backed private equity emerging markets fund of funds manager, has appointed Shonaid Jemmett-Page as chief operating officer.
CDC Group, the UK government-backed private equity emerging markets fund of funds manager, has appointed Shonaid Jemmett-Page as chief operating officer.
Jemmett-Page joins from Unilever where she worked since 2001, first in their fastest growing business unit in Asia and most recently as senior vice-president of finance and information.
Previously she worked for KPMG for 20 years where she established and developed their sustainability unit.
Richard Laing, chief executive, CDC Group, says: "Shonaid’s business experience in emerging markets combined with her deep financial, general management and socially responsible investment experience means she will add real value to CDC and be a great asset to us."
CDC is a government-owned fund of funds manager with net assets of GBP2.7bn. It uses its own balance sheet to invest in private equity funds focused on the emerging markets of south Asia and sub-Saharan Africa.
CDC’s mission is to generate wealth by providing capital for investment in sustainable and responsibly managed private sector businesses.
