ConJoin Group, an investment and management consulting firm specialising in helping private equity and venture capital firms transform underperforming assets, has appointed Jim Rappaport to the board of directors.
Rappaport currently serves as chairman of New Boston Fund, a real estate investment firm which manages more than USD1.2bn in equity and USD2.5bn in real estate investments. Rappaport currently provides oversight and strategic counsel to the fund’s investment strategies and its day-to-day management.
In addition, Rappaport serves as chairman of Specialty Hospitals of America, which owns United Medical Center, Specialty Hospital of Washington Capitol Hill and Specialty Hospital of Washington Hadley, which have over 700 beds (hospital, long-term acute and skilled nursing beds) and revenues of over USD200m per year.
Rappaport has more than 25 years of real estate investment experience. Beginning in 1982 he was a general partner in Charles River Park, where he managed the daily operations of the mixed-use development which generated over USD40,000,000 in annual revenue. From 1991 to 1994, Rappaport served as president of Charles River Properties, overseeing company operations, investments, and public affairs.

Rappaport is actively involved in numerous civic and charitable organisations, including serving in a number of leadership positions for the Combined Jewish Philanthropies. He is also a member of the board of trustees for the Dana Farber Cancer Institute as well as the board of overseers of Boston’s Children’s Hospital.
