European specialist growth investor Verdane, through its impact fund Idun, has made an investment of up to €26m in UrbanVolt, a specialist in clean energy technology with operations in Ireland and the United Kingdom. 

French private equity firm Archimed SAS has agreed to buy UK software company Instem, a provider of IT services for drug development in the global life sciences market, in a take-private deal that values the Staffordshire-based business at £203m. 

Funds advised by SK Capital Partners (SK Capital), a private investment firm focused on the specialty materials, ingredients, and life sciences sectors, have acquired Isolatek International (Isolatek), a manufacturer and supplier of passive fireproofing technologies. 

Cube Infrastructure Managers (Cube), a European mid-market infrastructure investor, has agreed to acquire Urbaser Nordic (Nord), a provider of municipal waste collection services to local communities in all Nordic countries, through its fund Cube Infrastructure Fund III. 

Private equity firm PAI Partners (PAI) is to acquire Alphia, one of the largest pet food co-manufacturers in North America, from JH Whitney Capital Partners. Terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.

PAG, an alternative investment firm focussed on investments in the Asia Pacific region, is to acquire a controlling interest in Australian Venue Co (AVC), a food and beverage hospitality business, from KKR. Financial terms of the transaction have not disclosed.
