CORE sells J&K Ingredients to SK Capital

CORE Industrial Partners (CORE), a manufacturing, industrial technology, and industrial services-focused private equity firm, is to sell J&K Ingredients (J&K), a manufacturer and supplier of food and beverage ingredients to PE firm SK Capital.

SK focuses on investments in the specialty materials, ingredients, and life sciences sectors. The transaction is expected to close before the end of the year.

Founded in 1899, J&K Ingredients pioneered the bakery industry’s first natural mould inhibitor and remains at the forefront of clean label ingredients innovation, custom formulation, and manufacturing across multiple food & beverage end markets. The company’s specialty ingredients offering spans more than 400 items across 13 categories, including bread and roll bases, dough conditioners, egg and milk replacers, flavours, emulsions and stabilizsers, among other categories.

CORE invested in J&K in October 2020 with the vision of scaling the business by enhancing its legacy bakery ingredients offering and expanding its natural preservative product category into adjacent food & beverage end markets.

Harris Williams served as the exclusive financial advisor, and Kirkland & Ellis acted as the legal advisor to CORE and the Company on the transaction.
