CVC Capital has launched CVC Catalyst, a new sector-agnostic private equity strategy dedicated to high-quality, faster-growing mid-market businesses across Europe. The focus will be on on equity investments of under €250m in companies with strong growth potential.
Leveraging CVC’s extensive pan-European platform – which includes 16 country offices and five dedicated sector teams – Catalyst will tap into the firm’s network to source and support targets. The team will operate under the same Investment Committee and value-creation framework as CVC Capital Partners IX, the firm’s €26bn flagship fund, and draw on the mid-market technology experience developed through CVC Growth Funds I and II.
With over 40 years of mid-market investing under its belt, CVC expects Catalyst to broaden its reach beyond the largest leveraged buyouts, enabling the firm to pursue a wider opportunity set and deploy capital more nimbly. CVC Catalyst will sit alongside CVC IX, giving the firm the flexibility to tailor entry sizes and operational support across different segments of the European private equity landscape.
