DB Private Equity invests in Celltick

DB Private Equity, the private equity platform of the asset and wealth management division of Deutsche Bank Group, has invested in mobile commerce specialist Celltick.

In February, Celltick announced record revenue in 2012 with focus on mobile initiated commerce utilising its mobile home screen marketing technologies. The company creates publishing inventory of various mobile devices’ home screens while closing the loop between mobile marketing and the final commerce transaction resulting from a marketing promotion.

By the close of 2012, Celltick powered billions of mobile initiated commerce transactions for virtual and physical goods serving over 140 million active consumers in over 25 countries. It increased its subscriber reach by over 250 million to a total of 700 million.

“We are pleased to add DB Private Equity as a strategic investment partner and look forward to a longer term cooperation as demand for mobile initiated commerce increases in the market,” says Ronen Daniel, chief executive of Celltick. “We see the investment as a testament to our strong operator relationships, expertise and patented technology that intelligently targets hard to reach consumers in high growth markets for mobile commerce.”

More recently, the company announced the launch of its Real Time Coupon Server as part of its mobile initiated commerce play after selling over 5.8 million mobile coupons across India, Ukraine, Azerbaijan and Brazil by the end of 2012.
