Digital Development Management (DDM), a business and talent agency for video games and digital entertainment, has acquired Netherlands-based Green Hill’s business development division to expand its presence in the European market.
Green Hill Studios, a production management company, will remain separate.
Maarten de Koning, managing director of Green Hill, joins DDM as business development director, Europe. With a background in investment management and game development, de Koning has held production roles at various studios and founded Green Hill on the principles of providing business development, effective product management and consultation to video game developers.
Since its inception in 2010, Green Hill has worked with various renowned companies, ranging from indie developers to mature studios.
“We are very excited about merging into DDM and advancing the agency’s offerings here in Europe,” says de Koning. “Our company ideals and goals are perfectly aligned with those of DDM, and I know that this merger will benefit development studios in Europe.”
DDM represents some of the most prominent independent development studios in the gaming industry including Ninja Theory (DmC Devil May Cry), Yager (Spec Ops: The Line), Slant Six Games (Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City), and Zombie Studios (Blacklight: Retribution). In addition to its Game Studio Representation division, DDM offers industry guidance for expansion in the video game business through Game Industry Services (GIS), and facilitates production needs to handle all aspects of bringing a game to market through Game Production Services (GPS).
“DDM offers games development solutions for every platform worldwide and the addition of Maarten’s business development expertise and Green Hill’s strong mobile and digital relationships wholly complements DDM’s unparalleled strength and focus on the video game industry. We are thrilled to have them on board and excited to further enhance our clientele and offerings in Europe,” says DDM president Joe Minton.
