Varagon Capital Partners (Varagon) is serving as Administrative Agent, Joint Lead Arranger and Sole Bookrunner on a senior secured credit facility to support the acquisition of Accupac by an affiliate of Palladium Equity Partners (Palladium).Founded in 1974 and headquartered in Mainland, PA, Accupac is a leading contract manufacturer of complex specialty oral care, lotions, topical care, and other over-the-counter and CPG products for the world’s largest pharmaceutical and consumer products companies.
BGF-backed Kids Planet has acquired North West-based Kids Allowed in a deal which makes it the UK’s third biggest nursery group. Kids Planet now has 52 nurseries across the North West and Midlands and provides care to nearly 6,000 children. The business was founded in 2008 by CEO Clare Roberts and her father John, who is now Chair. Clare’s sister, Lucy Kaczmarska joined as Childcare Director in 2013. Kids Planet received GBP10 million initial investment from BGF, the UK and Ireland’s most active investor in growing businesses, in 2016 when it had 17 nurseries.  Kids Planet has trebled its footprint since

Foresight Group LLP (“Foresight”), a leading infrastructure and private equity investment manager, has supported the MBO of Signature Private Finance Holdings Limited (Signature), from private equity firm, Cabot Square Capital, with an investment of GBP16.8 million to secure a majority stake in the Company.  Foresight will also provide an initial GBP5 million revolving credit facility for the specialist property lender.  Signature is also pleased to announce an updated brand, Signature Property Finance, to better reflect its market offering. Glasgow based investment syndicate Kelvin Capital has seen a 19 per cent increase in its total investments in 2019, compared to 2018 levels.  The record figure saw GBP12.5 million being invested, up from GBP10.5 million in 2018, with new syndicate members joining from Europe and the Far East.   In the last quarter of 2019 alone, GBP2.75 million was invested in Scottish based businesses including GBP1m into hydrogen technology company Logan Energy. In the first quarter of 2020, GBP3.3 million of new investment has already been committed to portfolio companies.   Other significant investments made throughout 2019 include Biotangents, ProFactor Pharma, Novosound
Paris-based private equity investor Omnes has acquired a minority shareholding interest in Danish solar PV provider Better Energy for EUR30 million. This deal marks the first investment of Omnes’s fourth-generation fund dedicated to renewable energy, Capenergie 4, currently being raised. Omnes has announced on this occasion the first closing of Capenergie 4 at EUR380 million (EUR500 million in target size).    Omnes received strong support from its existing investor base as well as from new French and international institutional investors. The European Investment Bank is supporting Capenergie 4 as a cornerstone investor with a EUR75 million commitment, up from EUR45 million
TELEO Capital Management (TELEO) has acquired the Automated System Management (ASM) product platform and related products (Industrial Defender) from Capgemini America, Inc.  Industrial Defender provides cybersecurity and compliance software solutions for critical infrastructure providers globally. The software offers a management platform purpose-built to address the overlapping requirements of cybersecurity, compliance and change management for Industrial Control Systems (ICS). Industrial Defender serves Fortune 500 clients across the utility, oil & gas and chemical processing verticals. Bloc Ventures Limited (Bloc), a venture capital company focussed on early stage European deep technology investment, has raised over GBP20 million in equity funding from UK industry leaders. The latest funding round was led by Michael Spencer’s investment company IPGL Limited and supported by a number of other industry leaders including Warren East, Christopher (Jock) Miller, Gavyn Davies, Stuart Roden, and Stephen Catlin, who also serves as a non- executive director on the Bloc Board. After a decade of investor caution towards Central and Eastern Europe (CEE), is the recent switch to net labour inflows to the region heralding a newborn appetite from international LPs   While CEE fundraising levels are still far from the levels seen before 2008, a fresh study by CMS shows that private equity investments reached a record high of 318 deals in emerging Europe in 2019, accounting for 16 per cent of all deal-making there.
