Healthtech M&A activity saw an increase in the first half of 2019 with a healthy 100 deals inked (11 per cent more than in 2H 2018) and around USD8.3 billion in disclosed transaction value throughout the period, according to Hampleton Partners’ atest global Healthtech M&A Market Report.
Trailing 30-month median valuation multiples reached the highest levels in years, with EV/EBITDA climbing to 17.7x after the low of 13.7x in 2H 2018, and EV/S reaching 3.4x – a new record for healthtech.

Investcorp, a global provider and manager of alternative investment products, has finalised its acquisition of a majority interest in CM Investment Partners (CMIP), which acts as the investment adviser to Investcorp Credit Management BDC, (formerly known as CM Finance Inc).
The transaction was first announced in June 2019. Investcorp Credit Management BDC, a specialty finance company that has elected to be regulated as a business development company (BDC), invests primarily in the debt of US middle-market companies. Additional terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.

European companies raised a record-breaking EUR10.6 billion of venture capital during the first six months of 2019 according to analysis by Refinitiv.
The total raised, during the first six months of 2019 (H1 2019), marked an increase of 61 per cent year on year. Despite the record-breaking deal values in the period, deal volumes continued to decline as only 683 rounds were completed in the first half. This is down 7 per cent from H1 2018 and marked the slowest start to a year since 2009.

An affiliate of HIG Capital (HIG) has completed the acquisition of Nadir Figueiredo Indústria e Comércio (Nadir), the largest glass tableware producer in Brazil and the sixth largest in the world. The transaction value was approximately BRL1 billion.

Invenio Business Solutions, a provider of business-focused technology solutions and consulting services, has acquired Proverbium, a Bangalore-based logistics consultancy.
Proverbium is a specialist in the Enterprise Warehouse Management space, with a focus on SAP-EWM. Headquartered in Bengaluru, India, it was founded by Amith Cheriyan and Reji Cheriyan, who will stay with the business, joining Invenio’s Digital Supply Chain and Logistics business unit.

OpenGov, a specialist in enterprise cloud solutions for government, has raised USD51 million in a Series D financing round led by experienced GovTech investors Weatherford Capital and 8VC, with participation from existing investor Andreessen Horowitz.
With this new round of funding, OpenGov has now raised more than USD140 million from Andreessen Horowitz, 8VC, JC2 Ventures, Emerson Collective, and other top investors since its founding in 2012.
