US private equity firm Horizon Capital has acquired a majority stake in Dobrobut, a private healthcare services provider in Ukraine, via its latest USD200 million fund, Emerging Europe Growth Fund III. KGAL New Frontiers (KNF) has acquired a 22 per cent share of SunErgy AS, a Norwegian company delivering innovative solar power infrastructure in emerging markets. SunErgy AS supplies off-grid electricity to towns in emerging markets. Tosca Debt Capital (TDC) has completed an undisclosed investment to support the merger of Livingbridge portfolio company, Catalyst Development Ltd, with Sionic Advisors. This marks the regional debt fund’s tenth deal from its circa GBP240 million Fund II. The undisclosed funding package provided by Manchester-based TDC and Lloyds Banking Group will support the creation of one of the world’s largest specialist consulting firms. Croatian food and retail group Agrokor, represented by Kirkalnd & Ellis, has successfully completed a two-year restructuring process.  With the implementation of the creditor settlement on 1 April, 2019, the new holding company Fortenova Group took over the operative parts of Agrokor, which are now controlled by the former creditors as new shareholders. The former parent company will be wound up together with the remaining subsidiaries in due course. iMod Structures (IMS), makers of ‘future proof’ modular classrooms, has raised USD11 million in a Series A round of funding led by the Goldman Sachs Urban Investment Group.  This financing in equity and warrants marks the first institutional investment in the company. Mid Europa Partners (Mid Europa), a private equity investor focused on Central and Eastern Europe (CEE), is to acquire a majority stake in Mlinar dd (Mlinar) from its founder, Mato Škojo, who will retain a stake in the business. The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions and is expected to complete in Q2 2019.  Mlinar is the bakery retail and wholesale business in Croatia and operates the largest bakery retail network in South East Europe. ARQIS has advised Sankyo Tateyama. on the acquisition of the aluminium foundry (casting) business of Aluwerk Hettstedt (AWH), a manufacturer of cast and extruded aluminium products, and of the entire business of RMG Metallfachhandel (RMG), a distributor of semi-finished metal products.  The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.   AWH is a manufacturer of cast aluminium billets and extruded profiles and specialises in the casting of medium and hard alloys.
