Prestige Funds, a provider of private finance to the UK’s agriculture, clean energy and SME markets, has agreed to a GBP23.2 million funding deal to finance the construction of a 2.5MWe (700 nm3/h biomethane) ‘gas to grid’ anaerobic digestion plant in Kent. The plant will take approximately 20 months to build and is the second project to be announced in Kent in 2019. The deal is the latest in a long series of financing agreements to fund anaerobic digestion (AD) facilities in the UK, which are helping farm, food and agri businesses to process waste into energy. IFC, a member of the World Bank Group, is providing up to USD100 million in financing to the Middle East Glass Manufacturing Company (MEG), Egypt’s leading maker of glass containers. Funds managed by Searchlight Capital Partners (Searchlight) are to acquire a 26 per cent stake in Latécoère from funds managed by affiliates of Apollo Global Management, an affiliate of investment funds managed by Monarch Alternative Capital (Monarch), and CVi Partners. Searchlight is paying a total of USD106.8 million, equivalent to EUR 3.85 per share. The Agreement provides for a top-up provision in the event Searchlight files a tender offer on Latécoère at a higher price within 12 months following closing and such tender offer is consummated.
