The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) and LDC, the private equity arm of Lloyds Banking Group, have agreed a partnership to support the future growth of RIBA Enterprises Ltd, the commercial arm of the RIBA which trades as NBS.
NBS is a provider of technology, content and data services to professionals in the architectural, engineering and construction industries. Headquartered in Newcastle, NBS employs more than 200 people and for the financial year ending December 2017 recorded a turnover of GBP20.5 million.

Funds managed by Equistone Partners Europe (Equistone) have agreed to sell a majority stake in Karl Eugen Fischer, a manufacturer of cord-cutting machines for the tyre industry.
Equistone acquired Karl Eugen Fischer in August 2013 and is now selling its stake to DBAG Fund VII, managed by Deutsche Beteiligungs AG. Management will retain a shareholding in the company. The financial terms of the deal are undisclosed.

The financing round was led by 83North with participation from Rony Grushka and Kevin Gould, co-founders of Markit, one of the world’s most highly respected financial information companies with a market cap of USD20 billion. Lawyers from Carey Olsen in Guernsey and Jersey have advised Silverfleet Capital on the sale of Ipes, a leading provider of fund administration and other outsourced services in the private equity sector, to Apex Group.
Silverfleet Capital, a pan-European private equity firm, has owned Ipes since acquiring it from RJD Partners in 2013. Since then, Ipes has achieved strong organic growth and has strengthened its pan-European footprint by more than doubling both number of clients and staff. Global fintech firm InvestCloud Inc has announced the acquisition of London-based rplan Limited for USD20 million.
rplan is a provider of client engagement technology in the UK to support bespoke investment propositions for web and mobile. Its client base includes some of the largest institutional asset managers in the world, including four of the top eight in the UK.
The firm writes that rplan has had significant success enabling asset managers to digitize their existing retail clients and catapult the development of their digital strategy to support multi-channel distribution.

Claroty, a specialist in cybersecurity for industrial control networks, has secured USD60 million in Series B funding from a prominent syndicate of investors, including industrial operators and control system vendors, bringing the company’s total investment to date to USD93 million.
The round was led by Temasek and included Rockwell Automation, Aster Capital (Sponsored by Schneider Electric), Next47 (Siemens-backed global venture firm), Envision Ventures, and Tekfen Ventures.
