Darkstore, a third-party logistics (3PL) company based in San Francisco, has secured USD1.4 million in seed funding from PivotNorth Capital, a venture capital firm known for investing in promising software enterprises.  Darkstore Founder and CEO Lee Hnetinka, who already raised USD150,000 in May of last year and another USD120,000 in August 2016, plans to use this latest round of funding to expand Darkstore’s growing reach in order to provide speedy order fulfilment services for a growing number of business partners across the nation.   Already, Darkstore features strategic fulfilment locations ranging from San Francisco to Los Angeles, Seattle, Phoenix, Chicago,

Global advisory and fund administration fund Maitland is to acquire Guernsey-based Designated Manager, R&H Fund Services (Guernsey) Limited. Other Rawlinson & Hunter businesses in the Channel Islands, including R&H Trust Co (Guernsey) Limited, Rawlinson & Hunter Limited and R&H’s Jersey businesses, have an entirely separate ownership structure and do not form part of the transaction.   Maitland, named Best Multi-Family Office and Best Wealth Planning Team at the Wealth Adviser Awards 2017, will offer its full range of Institutional Client Services through the Guernsey office, including long-only fund administration, transfer agency, hedge funds, private equity and real estate administration services
Kettle safety controls manufacturer and supplier Strix Group has completed a GBP190m equity fundraising and listing on London’s Alternative Investment Market (AIM), in a deal led by independent investment bank Zeus Capital. Established in 1982, the Isle of Man-based Strix is a global leader in the design, manufacture and supply of kettle safety controls and other water temperature management components. CollabNet, a specialist in enterprise software development and DevOps solutions, and VersionOne (www.versionone.com), which focuses on agile software solutions and services, have merged. The combined company will offer the industry’s most complete Enterprise Agile, ALM Collaboration, Version Control and DevOps solutions that power application development and delivery for many of the world’s leading businesses and government institutions.   The combined company, which will maintain the CollabNet name, will be headquartered in Atlanta. Post Oak Energy Capital (Post Oak), through investment partnerships it manages, has led a USD100 million equity commitment to Nadel and Gussman NV. Affiliates of Nadel and Gussman, LLC and the management team will co-invest alongside Post Oak. NGNV is a Tulsa-based exploration and production company with an initial focus on the acquisition and development of oil and gas properties in the Haynesville Shale. British men’s shaving supplier Cornerstone has completed a new GBP3.5m round of investment led by private equity firm Calculus Capital, with e-commerce veteran William Reeve (previously on the boards of Graze, Lovefilm, Zoopla & Paddy Power) joining Cornerstone as adviser. This latest funding round takes total capital raised since launch in 2014 to GBP8 million. Middle market private equity firm One Equity Partners’ (OEP) portfolio company Resolute Industrial, (Resolute), a Wheeling, Illinois-based provider of cooling, HVAC and compressor equipment rental and remanufacturing services, has completed the acquisition of Tioga HVAC Rentals (Tioga), a supplier of heating and small-tonnage cooling equipment. Terms of the private transaction have not been disclosed.   Headquartered in Detroit, Tioga provides portable commercial heating, ventilation and small-tonnage cooling equipment, with offices across the Midwest. International law firm Ropes & Gray has advised Intermediate Capital Group (ICG) on its investment in Blackrock Programme Management (Blackrock PM), a UK-headquartered professional services firm that provides construction consulting and expert witness services for large, international construction and engineering projects. BGF Quoted has provided GBP7 million in funding to AIM-listed Netcall, a provider of technology solutions that help businesses better engage with their customers, to support Netcall’s acquisition of Beringea-backed MatsSoft Limited, a cloud-based software provider. The investment was transacted via BGF’s most recently opened regional office in Milton Keynes.   Headquartered in Hemel Hempstead, Netcall has more than 700 customers in the private and public sector including NHS Acute Health Trusts, BT, Lloyds Banking Group, Axa and Interflora. The company’s product suite incorporates omni-channel contact centre, workforce optimisation and business process management, delivered through its integrated platform, Liberty.
