Baird Capital’s UK private equity group has invested GBP10.1m in Watkins Hire, a provider of industrial and commercial heating and cooling equipment rental. Investcorp has acquired a significant minority stake in Namet Gida Sanayi ve Ticareti, a Turkish producer of fresh cut and packaged processed red meat products. The company sells its products, including soujouk, pastrami, salami, sausages, smoked meats and frozen and ready to eat burgers, to retailers as well as hotels, restaurants and catering companies. All of its products are certified Halal.   Namet was acquired in 2005 by members of the Kayar family, a family involved in livestock trading since 1929, who has since then strongly developed the company and the brand. First Names group has acquired Guernsey trust, funds and corporate services provider Mercator. The acquisition of Mercator, which remains subject to regulatory approval, will expand the group’s presence in the Channel Islands.   This is the fourth acquisition for the group since its management buyout in July 2012 and major rebrand in early 2013.   Boutique fund services business Moore Management and international trust and corporate services providers Basel and Citadel were purchased in January, July and December respectively.   The transaction complements the group’s existing offering, as the trust and corporate services business will be integrated into First Names

August Equity has closed its latest fund, August Equity Partners III, having reached its hard cap of GBP200m. Private equity firm American Industrial Partners (AIP) has completed the acquisition of the transportation products division (CTP) of Carlisle Companies Incorporated.  The investment was made out of American Industrial Partners Capital Fund V, a USD717.5m fund that closed in December 2011.   CTP, founded in 1917, is a manufacturer of specialty tyres, wheels and power transmission belts for a range of end markets including the outdoor power equipment, agricultural/construction, high speed trailer and power sports markets.  The company has revenue of approximately USD765m and 4,000 employees across seven manufacturing facilities and 10 distribution facilities located in the US, Canada, Europe

Snowden represents Estancia’s fourth investment from its inaugural fund Estancia Capital Partners, L.P. Falconhead Capital, a private equity firm specialising in growing sports and consumer-focused businesses, has sold its portfolio company NYDJ Apparel to Crestview Partners and Maybrook Capital Partners.  Financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.   Headquartered in Vernon, California, NYDJ offers a range of products to women. Under Falconhead's ownership, the company expanded in both domestic and international markets, entered the market for tops (shirts, blouses and other items) and began to sell merchandise through its website.
